FLATBUSH FALCONS ADVANCE TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND!!

Wow! It feels like our community basketball teams began their season-long ventures just a few short weeks ago! We've seen hard work, perseverance and sportsmanship across the board. Here’s how they fared:

·         After a hard-won game against Rambam, YDE Varsity advanced to the quarter-finals where they played against Heschel. Morris Bassoul led YDE in scoring, sinking 14 three-pointers in the fourth quarter!

·         In a quarter-finals nail-biter, the Flatbush Falcons prevailed 56-53 over a sharpshooting, poised Hillel Heat basketball team. Abie Rosow came in with 16 points, Kevin Haddad with 12, and Jackie Mishaan with nine. The Flatbush Falcons moved on to the semi-finals, where they ultimately defeated Heschel in a hard-earned match. In the final minute, it got especially dramatic: Jake Shalom and Kevin Haddad hit four clutch free throws, turning a one-point deficit into a three-point victory. Flatbush culminated their amazing season by playing in the championship game against DRS. Though they came in second, no one can deny that they gave all their energy and spirit.

·         As for the JV Division, the MDY Warriors brought their best armor to the court during the quarter-finals game against TABC. MDY gained momentum with a 20-7 lead in the first quarter and secured the victory to move on to the semi-finals round. The well-coached MDY team persevered through an impressive season, setting a fine example for other community sports teams.

Congratulations to all of our SY Varsity Teams on a wonderful season!
