FACES OF SUCCESS AND YOU COULD BE NEXT!
It has been full S. T. E. A. M. ahead all year long at Shaare Torah Girls Elementary Division.
Under the leadership of Mrs. Yona Krieser of grades 1-4 and Mrs. Devirah Greenfield of grades 5-8,
the STEAM curriculum was on full display at the Girls Elementary School. This year's Science, Technology,
Engineering, Art and Mathematics fair exceeded all expectations. For the fair, students created math games
and activities in which they applied concepts they had learned; created interactive activities to explore the
five senses which they had researched and built and programmed robots, and designed mazes for them;
They also researched modern-day inventions and constructed models, bridges and roller coasters
to which they applied the laws of physics. Grades 3 through 8 were involved in the fair, with each
grade presenting a different combination of the STEAM curriculum.
Mrs. Judy Lebovits, Vice President of the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education (CIJE), enthused,
“I am so impressed with the creativity and innovation of these girls. They are all so proud of the projects
they created and the knowledge which they gained. With the introduction of the new CIJE-Tech middle
school program, the girls have learned to focus on the application of STEAM subject matter.”
Mrs. Shelia Feinstein, former principal of Shaare Torah Girls division remarked, “I was very proud.

At Shaare Torah Girls Division the curriculum enhances student creativity, curiosity and
engagement. The students learn to collaborate, think, question, solve and design – all skills which
will enable them to succeed in the 21st century.
