NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLY WOMAN HOPEFUL REBECCA HARARY IN PROFILE
This past month was a tough one for our community teams, as they had to maintain their stellar records in order to clinch coveted playoff spots during this softball season. The fact that several games were postponed due to inclement weather made it an even trickier feat, as games had to be played consecutively, sometimes as many as three in a single week! Nevertheless, our boys rose to the challenge, bringing home several victories: Flatbush Varsity began a double-header series with YDE by defeating them 10-1. YDE came back strong in the second game, though, earning a hard-fought 11-7 win.
With Albert Arazi as MVP, Flatbush continued on their path to glory, getting an edge over Magen David with a 6-2 win and shutting out Ohr HaTorah by 17 points! As a result, Flatbush now ranks second place in the playoff standings. Showing exemplary teamwork, Magen David JV defeated Flatbush twice in their own double-header series, securing the 2nd place playoff seed right under YDE JV.
Shaare Torah came on strong with two stunning wins - the first against Ohr HaTorah and the second against community rival Magen David. The victories allowed them to clinch the first seed in the division with an undefeated 7-0 record!
To all of our SY sports teams: Keep up the amazing work as the championships inch closer! Good luck!
