The cold in the air definitely calls for a warm delicious brownie, and a nice cup of hot cocoa. If you are searching for an original recipe try this heavenly praline brownie, the perfect winter treat!


1 cup oil

1 1/2 cup sugar

1 cup dark brown sugar

10 oz. dark chocolate

1 tablespoon light corn syrup

4 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups flour

2 tablespoons cocoa

1 teaspoon baking powder


1.In a small pot stir oil and sugars together and cook over a low flame. Pour in chocolate chips and stir until melted. Remove from heat.

2.Beat eggs with electric beaters in a mixing bowl.

3.Add flour, baking powder, and cocoa and mix.

4.Pour in chocolate mixture.

5.Mix until well incorporated.

6. Pour batter onto a baking tray.

7. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Praline Topping

2 cups brown sugar

2/3 cup whipping cream

1/2 cup oil

2 cups powdered sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla

2 cups pecans


1.Over a low flame, stir oil, sugar, and whipping cream. Stir constantly for 3 minutes.

2.Remove from heat. Whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla. Add pecans, and stir until mixture begins to cool and thicken.

3.Pour immediately over baked brownies.

4.Cool, and cut into squares.


Bakers who are short on time can use a brownie mix. The results will still be amazing!

I recommend a double handled brownie cutter for these brownies.
It gives the brownies a beautiful straight edge.

For peanut lovers – use peanut butter instead of oil in the praline recipe and exchange pecans for peanuts.
