Escorted by a large crowd of rabbis, friends and relatives, a festive procession, beginning at Mrs. Diana Azrak’s home, celebrated the dedication of a beautiful new sefer Torah on June 7th. With Avenue S closed off by police to accommodate the large crowd, the Torah, was ushered to its new home at the main shul in Ahi Ezer Congregation amid much singing and dancing. Ornately encased in a magnificent silver enclosure, the Torah was donated by members of the synagogue and friends of its former president, Mr. Azrak, in his memory. The event was attended by Chief Rabbi Shaul Kassin, Rabbi Max Maslaton, Rabbi Murry Maslaton, Rabbi Shimon Alouf, Rabbi Hamra, Rabbi Yaakov Farhi, Rabbi Shaul Maslaton, Rabbi Elbaz and many other community leaders.
Hundreds of people came to show their recognition and appreciation to Marvin Azrak for decades of service to Ahi Ezer congregation and the community at large.
