On December 1, 2011, the Grand Rabbi of the Kaliv Hassidim visited Beit Edmond J. Safra, Sephardic Synagogue of Turnberry, in Aventura, Florida. The visit, which lasted several hours, was a brief stopover in the Rebbe’s return trip to Brooklyn after visiting numerous South American countries. Over 200 people came to receive the Rabbi’s blessing and advice. The Grand Rabbi has been coming to South Florida for many years, visiting schools and various institutions.

Kaliv is the name of a small town in Northeastern Hungary, most famously known for the Chasidic dynasty that began there. The present Rebbe is the sixth Rebbe in direct succession from the original Kaliver Rebbe. He immigrated to the United States as a child shortly after WWII.

Upon his father’s death in 1978, the present Grand Rabbi assumed the position of Kaliver Rebbe, and under his dynamic leadership the group has enjoyed astounding growth and remarkable success. In addition to the institutions built by his father, the Grand Rabbi has devoted his life to the Jewish people with limitless self-sacrifice, traveling all over the globe to Jewish communities and schools, to strengthen them on a communal and individual basis.

The Grand Rabbi has been doing this work for the last 30 years,  accepting absolutely no money and making no solicitations of any kind, driven solely by his mission to see Judaism strengthened and sanctified.

The Grand Rabbi of Kalev lives in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. To set up an appointment to see the rabbi personally, please call 718-782-4553, or visit the Kaliver Hassidim’s website at www.kaalov.org
